Permanente Medical Groups rebrand, launch new website to strengthen advocacy for patient-centered, high-quality health care
New Permanente Medicine website highlights how Kaiser Permanente health care model delivers medical excellence
OAKLAND, Calif. – The Permanente Medical Groups (PMGs), whose more than 22,000 physicians comprise one of the largest consortiums of medical groups in the country, today unveiled their Permanente Medicine (permanente.org) website, reflecting a comprehensive rebranding effort. All eight medical groups elected to unify their visual identity and voice, utilizing a new Permanente Medicine brand to enhance their efforts to advance patient-centered, high-quality health care in America.
The new website features stories and news about the eight PMGs, whose physicians provide care to more than 12.2 million Kaiser Permanente members. The site’s new look incorporates the Permanente Medicine brand, which promotes the medical excellence made possible by Kaiser Permanente’s unique structure. The organization is composed of the medical groups, hospitals, and health plans. The comprehensive rebranding effort includes new organizational logos for the PMGs and updated social properties all developed to promote Permanente Medicine as the new ingredient brand of Kaiser Permanente.
“Our physician groups provide exceptional, high-quality medical care that leads the industry,” said Richard S. Isaacs, MD, FACS, co-CEO of The Permanente Federation, which represents the PMGs nationally. “This Permanente Medicine brand website amplifies the voices of Permanente physicians in the national conversation about improving health care in America. Visitors to this site will gain a better understanding of our health care model. They also will learn more about health promotion, chronic disease management, complex tertiary and surgical treatment, and the value our physicians deliver as leaders and experts in their fields.”
The website features stories on medical innovation and clinical quality, leadership columns, physician profiles, a podcast with physician and industry leaders, and official statements on relevant policy issues. For example, recent content on the website included statements demonstrating Permanente physicians’ commitment to combating antibiotic resistance and improving the diagnostic process as well as support for important social issues such as diversity and inclusion and transgender equality.
“`Permanente Medicine’ is what we call our philosophy that guides our clinical practice,” said Stephen Parodi, MD, executive vice president of External Affairs, Communications, and Brand at The Permanente Federation. “It means we care for our patients, each other, and our communities with compassion, humanity, dignity, and respect.”
