Advocating on behalf of our patients and physicians

Permanente physicians have an important voice in shaping the future of health care. We partner across the Permanente Medical Groups and with Kaiser Foundation Health Plan and Hospitals to uphold Kaiser Permanente’s physician-led integrated care delivery system as a model for the nation.

We do this by sharing insights and best practices with the health care industry, federal and state governments, and influencers to drive change that improves the care experience for all.

We believe that the perspective of Permanente physicians, especially those in day-to-day practice, can have a positive impact when developing new laws and regulations.  Physicians and other health authorities are one of the public’s most trusted groups and are viewed as knowledgeable, credible sources on health care issues by policymakers.

Gun violence as a public health crisis

The physicians and care teams at Kaiser Permanente see firsthand the devastating aftermath of gun violence. This public health crisis has short- and long-term effects on physical and mental health. We pledge to lead and partner with other health systems, public health authorities, community organizations, and business leaders to search for solutions and relentlessly pursue a healthier future. Advanced care at home

Advanced care at home demonstrates person-centered care by treating patients at the right time and right place, based on their choice. Several prominent health care organizations, including Kaiser Permanente, have provided this model of patient-centered care over the last decade. We co-founded the Advanced Care at Home Coalition to create a pathway to coverage for the delivery of hospital-level care in the home.
