The Permanente Federation’s campaigns highlighting Kaiser Permanente Care at Home program recognized by PR Daily in two award categories
Campaigns highlighting Kaiser Permanente’s patient-centered care-at-home program earned Honorable Mentions in PR Daily’s Social Media & Digital Awards and Content Marketing Awards
OAKLAND, CA (AUGUST 16, 2024) — Public relations news outlet PR Daily recently recognized The Permanente Federation’s media relations and integrated content marketing campaigns promoting the Kaiser Permanente Care at Home program. The campaigns, which featured contributions from Permanente physician leaders, multimedia stories, and coverage from national outlets, received Honorable Mentions in PR Daily’s Social Media & Digital Awards and its Content Marketing Awards, respectively.
The PR Daily Awards are held annually to recognize the best media and content marketing assets and campaigns from the past year across industries. The Permanente Federation previously earned an honorable mention in PR Daily’s 2022 Content Marketing Awards for its #JustTheVaxx COVID-19 Vaccine Awareness Campaign.
“It’s exciting to see recognition for campaigns that lift up our advanced care at home program,” said Vivian Reyes, MD, national physician leader for Kaiser Permanente’s Care at Home program. “The momentum for care-at-home programs like it continues to build. The more services that we can add, the greater the variety of patients who can receive advanced care in their homes.”
The Kaiser Permanente Care at Home program uses a technology platform and command centers to facilitate physician-led teams that provide care and conduct visits virtually and at home. Kaiser Permanente’s integrated care at home model brings hospital services and supplies into the patient’s home and coordinates follow-up care with the patient’s primary care team.
The Permanente Federation’s media campaign and integrated content marketing campaigns educated audiences about advanced care at home services, elevated the program as an example for other health care systems to follow, and showcased Kaiser Permanente as an industry leader in patient-centered care. The campaigns’ stories demonstrated the need for advanced care at home programs both during the pandemic and beyond, while highlighting the possibilities and lessons learned for care at home initiatives.
The integrated content marketing campaign focused on reaching physician leaders, influencers, and patients through leading national media outlets, trade magazines, industry events and panels, webinars, podcasts, and online video interviews.
Underscoring the emphasis on physician-led care, Permanente physician leaders played an important role in the campaigns by sharing their expertise with national media outlets and through Permanente Medicine content channels.
Both the Social Media & Digital Awards and the Content Marketing Awards recognized media coverage that included Dr. Reyes, who is also an associate executive director with The Permanente Medical Group. Dr. Reyes discussed how home-based advanced-level care programs can improve patient outcomes and what the future of advanced care at home programs might look like in TIME magazine and during an episode of the Permanente Medicine Podcast.
Stephen Parodi, MD, executive vice president of External Affairs, Communications, and Brand at The Permanente Federation, boosted the program as a model by highlighting lessons learned in an opinion article in HealthLeaders and in a Q&A with Home Health Care News. He also shared how the advanced care at home program rated highly with both patients and physicians during an AMA Update video.
Among the stories included in the PR Daily Social Media & Digital Awards program recognition was an article that appeared in The New York Times Magazine. That story quoted Mary Giswold, MD, chief operating officer of Northwest Permanente, on the need to reach certain economies of scale. It also quoted Arsheeya Mashaw, MD, of Northwest Permanente, who discussed how the program enables him to provide better care in the home to patients.
