Richard S. Isaacs, MD, FACS, describes benefits of an integrated health care model during Modern Healthcare webinar
While participating in a Modern Healthcare webinar, “Leading Through Crisis: What COVID-19 is Teaching Us,” Richard S. Isaacs, MD, FACS, described how collaboration among the integrated entities that comprise Kaiser Permanente has improved resource allocation and the organization’s response to the COVID-19 pandemic.
“When you collaborate across a broad spectrum of hospitals, the overall product improves,” said Dr. Isaacs, CEO and executive director of The Permanente Medical Group and co-CEO of The Permanente Federation. Kaiser Permanente’s integrated model is comprised of the Permanente Medical Groups, Kaiser Foundation Health Plan, and Kaiser Foundation Hospitals.
The webinar was 1 of 5 online events in Modern Healthcare’s virtual Transformation Summit presented earlier this month. Many of the discussions focused on topics related to COVID-19, ranging from the rapid adoption of telemedicine to improved collaboration by health care organizations during the pandemic. The events were featured in a recent Modern Healthcare story.
