The Permanente Federation co-CEO shares how value-based care is best equipped to address aging populations, workforce needs, and rapid technological change
Stephen Parodi, MD, Shares Kaiser Permanente’s Continuum of Care
Speaking on a panel at the annual Business Health Agenda this week, Stephen Parodi, MD, highlighted Kaiser Permanente’s clinical care experience where patients – such as those needing surgery – receive care touches before, during, and after a procedure.
Dr. Parodi, associate executive director of The Permanente Medical Group and an executive vice president at The Permanente Federation, spoke at the meeting hosted by the National Business Group on Health in Washington, DC, on Thursday. In a report published in Fierce Healthcare, Dr. Parodi says the patient engagement process was developed to help patients’ surgical recovery and to ensure they’re informed about their care.
“We really put a lot of thought into, ‘What does the patient want?’” says Dr. Parodi in the Fierce Healthcare report.
Other panelists included Jerry Fiala of Cleveland Clinic and Brent Pawlecki, MD, chief health officer at Goodyear. Read the complete Fierce Healthcare story on its site.
