Richard S. Isaacs, MD, FACS, appointed to AMGA’s Board of Directors
Richard S. Isaacs, MD, FACS, CEO and executive director, The Permanente Medical Group, and president and CEO, Mid-Atlantic Permanente Medical Group, is one of four new directors appointed to the AMGA (American Medical Group Association) board.
Dr. Isaacs, who also serves as co-CEO of The Permanente Federation, was appointed along with Carol Brockmiller, CMPE, Quincy Medical Group’s CEO; Kim Sherbrooke, MHA, FACMPE, vice president, John Hopkins Medicine, and chief operating officer, Office of Johns Hopkins Physicians; and Mary Jo Williamson, vice president of Clinic Administration, Mayo Clinic Health System.
Appointments to the 11-member board are effective January 1, 2019.
The AMGA Board of Directors also approved its 2019 Executive Committee, and Christopher J. Sclafani, PE, MBA, chief operating officer of CareMount Medical, P.C., was named as board chair.
“AMGA’s board represents the nation’s highest performing medical groups and integrated systems of care, who understand how optimizing care delivery improves patient outcomes and supports a value-based care system,” said Jerry Penso, MD, MBA, AMGA’s president and CEO. “Their expertise will be instrumental to AMGA in its mission to help members improve population health, lower costs and improve care quality.”
