An important message from Ramin Davidoff, MD, and Richard S. Isaacs, MD, FACS, co-CEOs of The Permanente Federation

Since it was enacted in 2010, the Affordable Care Act has extended health coverage to more than 20 million people and provided millions more with more-robust, stable coverage. The U.S. Supreme Court’s ruling today in California v. Texas preserves the law and protects those gains for the individuals and families who rely upon the health care that we deliver. The ruling enables us to build on the ACA’s strong foundation, to expand coverage and advance value-based care nationwide.

Permanente Medicine is grounded in the belief that everyone should have access to high-quality health coverage. Kaiser Permanente will continue to advocate for a U.S. health care system that is affordable and sustainable, and which delivers high-quality care. We urge policymakers to build on our country’s progress over the past decade, which has enabled more people to access health care and coverage in the United States than ever before.
