Panel: When the patient ward is your living room
Advances in technology have led to several health systems providing hospital-level care in patients’ homes, allowing them to recuperate from surgery or various illnesses in familiar surroundings. Vital sign information is transmitted wirelessly through devices such as remote blood pressure monitoring cuffs, and patients participate in virtual visits with their care teams. Similar programs are being employed as preventive care for some patient populations with conditions like diabetes and high blood pressure to avoid hospitalizations. In this panel, experts will discuss how their at-home programs work, what’s trending, and what we can expect in the future.
