American Hospital Association Leadership Summit
July 17, 2023 @ 7:15 am - 8:15 am PDT
As hospitals and health systems grapple with a myriad of priorities and significant challenges, there is increasing public and political pressure to add environmental sustainability to the work. In keeping with their missions, hospitals and health systems are seeking to be better stewards of the environment while addressing financial pressures, staffing challenges, and other priorities. There are significant opportunities to use environmental sustainability work to supplement and even enhance the work on these other priorities. During the American Hospital Association’s Leadership Summit in Seattle, a panel session featuring Permanente physician leader Colin Cave, MD, will examine how environmental sustainability fits into a hospital’s mission, provide specific examples of the benefits of using environmental stewardship to bolster already existing work, and discuss innovative approaches to best incorporate environmental sustainability efforts into an organization’s ongoing priorities.
