Anne Cadwell

Anne Cadwell is the chief financial officer of The Permanente Federation LLC, the national consortium supporting the work of the Permanente Medical Groups (PMGs). In this role, Cadwell oversees the financial operations of the Federation and its related organizations, as well as the Federation’s Ventures and People and Culture teams. She also works closely with the chief financial officers of the various PMGs.

Prior to joining the Federation in 2017, Cadwell served as managing director for The Permanente Medical Group in Oakland, California, where she was instrumental in leading physician documentation and coding that touched on many service lines, from Medicare Advantage to the Affordable Care Act implementation. She has also served as senior vice president and chief financial officer for the Northern California Region of Kaiser Foundation Health Plan Inc. and vice president for National Medicare Finance at KFHP.

Cadwell has also held senior-level positions at health care and accounting organizations, including Cap Gemini Ernst & Young (now Capgemini), Catholic Healthcare West (now Dignity Health), and Arthur Anderson (now Accenture).

Cadwell is a certified public accountant and holds a bachelor’s degree in economics and math from Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois; and a Master of Management degree in finance from J.L. Kellogg Graduate School of Management at Northwestern. She lives in the Oakland Hills with her husband and son.
