Growing to better support patients and physicians
Advanced Care at Home (ACAH) services continued to evolve as the Federation collaborated with KFHP/H to create a business case and obtain approval from sponsors to transition select services from external vendors to within Kaiser Permanente. To better understand Kaiser Permanente’s implementation of care-at-home treatment, the Federation completed an analysis to provide planning insights, and compared the Kaiser Permanente experience to a Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services study.
Additionally, the Federation conducted a population analysis to better understand patient characteristics and utilization patterns. Federation representatives also went to Congress to advocate for a 5-year extension of the ACAH waiver.
To support more commercial growth, Federation teams provided guidance on streamlining clinical and medical excellence messages, as well as customer reports to be used by PMG subject matter experts for business-to-business audience messaging. PMG market-facing physicians — including physician ambassadors, health promotion physicians, and national account Permanente physician leaders — engaged extensively with employers and brokers to discuss employee health and Kaiser Permanente’s care delivery model.
